Senator Azinger moved to amend the amendment on page one, after the enacting section by inserting a new section, designated section six, article three, chapter five, to read as follows:

CHAPTER 5. GENERAL POWERS AND AUTHORITY OF THE GOVERNOR.

ARTICLE 3. ATTORNEY GENERAL.

§5-3-6. Authorizing Attorney General’s investigators to carry firearms; requirements.


Notwithstanding any provision of this code to the contrary, the Attorney General may authorize investigators employed by the Office of the Attorney General to carry a handgun in the course of performing his or her official duties if the investigator has first successfully completed an initial firearms training course equivalent to that provided to officers attending the entry level law-enforcement certification course provided at the West Virginia State Police Academy, and thereafter, successfully completes an annual firearms qualification course equivalent to that required of certified law-enforcement officers as established by legislative rule.;

And,

By striking out the enacting section and inserting in lieu thereof a new enacting section, to read as follows:

That §6-3-1a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted; and that said Code be amended by adding thereto four new sections, designated §5-3-6, §7-15-19, §8-15-28 and §16-4C-24, all to read as follows:.
